In our never-ending struggle to keep fit, we might have been tempted to get a home exercise machine one time or another. For every exercise routine, you need a cardio exercise routine – so maybe you thought of getting treadmills or exercise bikes. You got have either one if you were going to stick to a routine. Now, the real thing is always best. If you can, just go for a jog every now and then, instead of buying treadmills. Or, if you can, take your racer for a spin around the neighborhood, instead of buying exercise bikes.
But if you really really cannot go out of the house for some exercise, then by all means purchase your home exercise equipment. And yes, you will need treadmills or bikes for these, aside from the usual weight-bearing machines. Which exactly is better for you? Treadmills or exercise bikes?
There are pros and cons to either treadmills or exercise bikes.
With treadmills, you can walk, jog or run whenever you want to. This can be great to your cardio-vascular health and it is a good way to pass time too. Footwork is one of the best way to trim down. When you get your me
tabolic rate up through your treadmills, your body begins to burn extra fat. In the same breath, treadmills are also best to train your heart. The more your heart gets used to rapid action, the more it adjusts and copes with stress – the healthier you become.
On the other hand, running or jogging on treadmills, if not done right, may strain your knee and/ or ankle. You carry your whole body as you run or jog, and any misalignment in your stride may strain these joints.
Likewise, if you are the type who likes to do something else as you do your cardio workout, all you can do while hitting the treadmills is watch television. You cannot read nor do the puzzle when you are running the marathon. But in any case, you need to stay focused on your form so why do something else.
The good treadmills are often the electric ones. Manual treadmills are all right but there is little control on the speed and incline.
With exercise bikes on the other hand, you get somewhat the same cardio-vascular workout. Whether it is manual or electric, bikes have controls that let you add tension to the pedals. This way, you can choose to work out your legs more and sweat more. Bikes also somewhat reduce risks of injuring your knees or ankles. Bikes can still do harm though. You must always be conscious about your form.
In the end, it does not matter what cardio-exerciser you choose. All you have to do it make sure your exercise with the proper form, and keep to it.
